We took over our shed early in 2017, formally used for storage by Dunstable Town Council it was in need of some paint. We all set to and got the place cleaned up and painted then built some racking for storage.
Originally we only had half of the building
Very soon it became clear that we needed more space as membership grew.
Eventually we were able to use the entire building which greatly improved our workspace
The next improvement was to our outside space, this rough and uneven area was not practical to work on.
Thanks to the generosity of a local company the area was dug out and concreted to provide a safe working area outside.
This was our tea room, open to the dust and noise from the workshop
Partitioned off we now have a quieter cleaner area to take refreshments with a decent kitchenette and at last we have an inside toilet having previously relied on a portaloo outside.
Our workspace is now rewired to modern standards and the lighting has been vastly improved. Having taken the opportunity to sort and clear unwanted items our workshop has more space and is better organised than before.
Externally the guttering, soffits and facias were replaced
New security door and roller shutter are the final touch to our much improved building
